“The Chef” is what the call me.

I am the technical director for DuckTV and Oregon News, which are classes that broadcast talent students can take to build their demo reel. From the control room, I run switcher, graphics and teleprompter.

I am a teaching assistant for JCOM 102, an entry level core education class at the SOJC is focused on audio and video equipment. I work with a group of 25 students, twice a week on recording quality audio, shooting video and editing a storyline in both Audition and Premiere Pro. 

With my roommate Gabs, we start every class with a skit to introduce the topic of the day and attend our students sporting events. We love connecting with students and watching the creative projects they make with basic production skills.

I get to sit back with my headphones on, audio mixer in-hand and learn from the best like Adriana Lacy, a 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree and Danny Parker, an ethnographer examining political ecologies.

Then I research, write and publish the show notes for their episodes.
